according to someone I talked to inside the store today. I notice that the "pharmacy" sign outside the store is still covered up, so I wonder if that part of the store isn't ready yet.

uh, no?
i mean people who actually listen to what you are requesting/how you spell your name/when you called something in so they know which bin to dig through. people who follow up if there is an issue would be great as well, instead of wasting my time going in for nothing. i'd also like them to pay a little attention to the queue instead of waiting on whoever randomly jumps in their face next.

I've never had a pharmacy tech at porter square who didn't pay me the utmost attention until my request was in. And maintaining the queue is your job. They don't give out slips of paper with numbers on them and you have to speak up if you want your spot. Tell someone you were there first, it's not that hard.

i'm glad you've had great experiences there! sadly, that doesn't mean everyone else has.
as for maintaining the queue being my job, no. i've worked plenty of customer service jobs and that's definitely been a part of it. not to mention i'm either in a wheelchair or on crutches, so what should i do, run over someone's toes if they're a jackass? that's totally going to result in the tech taking care of me first. OH WAIT, no, it's not.

Right, because people are totally unwilling to acquiesce to someone in a wheelchair or on crutches.

Having spent all of September and a good chunk of October on crutches, it's really hit or miss. Most people will be nice, but there are some who will just willfully ignore the cripple (and not understand why a good chunk of the bus is glaring at them).

I empathize, but if you're ignored it's 99% of the time going to be your fault. Most people aren't nearly assertive enough.

Most people aren't nearly attentive enough to their surroundings.

Did you not notice that you were responding to [livejournal.com profile] rufinia? Now, it's possible that she has ovaries of titanium on LJ and is a wimp in real life, but I'm doubting that "not assertive enough" is an appropriate description for her.
