jackhammers?

Anyone know why I'm hearing jackhammers coming from/around Elm street right now? Or how long it's going to go on for? I wanted to go to sleep ..... ;___;

They are installing a sprinkler system in the Burren, or at least a feed pipe to that system. It will probably go on until dawn.

I don't understand why they need to do this at night. It would be a lot less disruptive to do it at mid-day when people are not trying to sleep.

That is annoying, but sounds like a good idea. I used to frequent the 80s band on thursdays and it would get so crowded in there, but since the Station, everytime i'm in there and its overly crowded I get nervous.

Saw ya checkin out the work-basically the company doin the work could only do it at night;because that's what the city would allow. Between Davis being so busy, 1 Davis Sq, and the location of the work, that is what we are stuck with

If they have to shut off the water to do it, it would be really disruptive during the day, because so many businesses wouldn't be able to function. Screwed either way, I guess.

I don't think they shut off the water. The Burren was still open when I walked by and this work was going on.

yea, i managed to fall asleep after about an hour only to be woken up again at about 4am. gah. oh well, that's what you get for living in an urban area i suppose. some warning would have been nice though -- i didn't get a flyer about this or anything.
