The secret donut factory has closed...

...and in quite spectacular fashion, with big red inspectional services "X"s on the roof, a "Stop Work" order on the door, and a warning sign reading "UNSAFE DO NOT ENTER floor of building has collapsed".

I'm sure there's a story there.

I bet the owner will find it's not worth saving the building, and it'll be demolished for condos. I'll miss the baking smells, but not the garbage smells or the truck traffic.

geez, I wish I knew it was still there, ahh, memories...

On the other side, I live in medford over by the Alumni Fields, and every once in a while i get the baking aroma of something sweet from somewhere and it just makes my night!

Don't think so, the yummy smells have been there long before Danish Pastry House was there, it's possibly La Cachas or the pastry place on Main Street and Harvard.. It's possible it's the Dunkin's "factory" closer to Medford Square, though that's probably too far away...

Plus DPH doesn't generally seem to be too smelly (having walked past often in morning and evening for work, not necessarily during baking hours)

We figured out it might be Demet's Donuts or another nearby donut place, but it's so tempting. Bad to discover it the first day you're on a diet, though, as we did.

South Medford has a "Secret Donut Factory" of its own on Mystic Ave across from the VFW hall.
