My passport was issued more than 15 years ago so apparently I need a new one from scratch. What's a cheap and easy place to get passport photos taken around here? Can I just take the pics and the application to the post office?

The photography shop near Diesel does passport photos.

Yeah. And for cheap. I've had them scan a few old prints I had lost negatives/digital originals for and they're fast, friendly, and talented. Great place.

I like Cameras Inc - I like the people there, I've bought cameras there, and I get photos printed there. Even if it's not the cheapest option, I'd rather support the local shop, and they take care with prints. I printed some recently which were the wrong aspect ratio for the prints, but they obviously manually selected a decent crop for me.

However, I've had passport photos done by them and they've been awful.

My suggestion if possible, if you're at all handy with a camera and a little editing, is to do it yourself. Get a shot against a white background, crop it to the right size, and copy 4 or 6 of them onto a single 4x6 image and have it printed for $0.25.

Obviously, this is beyond a lot of people's skill level with photo software, and/or their inclination.
