Odd helicopter over Somerville last night

Hi, did anybody notice a helicopter that kept going back and forth over Somerville and Cambridge, last night (from around midnight until at least 1:30 AM)? Any idea what that was about?

I don't know about midnight, but on some other forums there was talk about helicopters over the area ( as in Middlesex Couty, burbs and all) in the early afternoon.

Which may have been some sort of dry run for the marathon, or may have had something to do with yesterday's brush fires in Cambridge.

I couldn't hear any helicopters today due to all the airplane noise.

However, on Thursday night, a helicopter was circling over the MIT campus at an unusually low altitude for at least an hour up to 10:00pm, and maybe even later.

Could have been an escort for an LNG tanker on its way to Everett.

Could also be Boston PD. They don't have their own copter per se, but for the past year they've been working out something where they ride along in a State Police copter patrolling the city. As in routine patrols like they do in L.A., not necessarily because something unusual is going on.
