Joe Lynch's "Greater Somerville" TV show

Joe Lynch hosts a half-hour talk show called "Greater Somerville", which airs live each Tuesday at 7:30 pm on SCAT cable channel 3. It is now also available on the Web.

(If someone can figure out how to use the rewind and fast-forward buttons, could you please add a comment here? Thanks.)

No idea, but if you follow the link to the blip.tv page you're given the option of viewing in flv or the uploaded wmv file, which you can then download directly (http://blip.tv/file/get/MediaPro-GreaterSomervilleAldermanTomTaylor226.wmv) and then view with whatever full-featured player you want.

I don't see any such link.

If I try to pick up the black circle and drag it to the right (to fast-forward), nothing happens.

Sorry, yeah, that's not very obvious either. Click on the little book icon on the player's toolbar. Then, click on the text "Read more about this post on blip.tv". Then, below the video player right above the comments, choose wmv from the "Play episode as" dropdown. Then, in firefox, hit ctrl-i and go over to the Media tab, scroll down to the one that says Embed in the Type column, click on it, and hit the Save As button.

Et voila!

This is a very silly procedure, of course. I'm sure there's half a dozen firefox extensions to automate it.
