Does anyone know of a place in the Boston/Somerville area where I might be able to find a 15,000 rpm internal SAS hard disk between now and Monday morning? I'm in one of those situations where I need this part and I cannot wait for it to be delivered by mail order.

Any suggestions? Help would be much appreciated.

Places I've already tried include:
-Micro Center in Cambridge (I don't think they even knew what I was talking about)
-Micro Computers in Medford
-Micro Northeast in Woburn (they're not open, even though they might well have what I'm looking for)

newegg.com has a bunch of them. You may want to see what their shipment options are like; you can probably get some sort of very expensive next-day delivery if need be. This may involve a phone call or two.

If you run hardware for which replacement parts are not commonly available through ordinary consumer retail channels, and you need short turnaround time on replacement parts, you should probably have a service contract for the equipment. The kind of thing where the manufacturer will next-day-air service parts to your location, and/or they'll dispatch a field-service engineer to install the part.

Your other possible option, if the hardware in question is still under warranty, is to call the manufacturer and ask if they have any kind of expedited delivery for a replacement drive. Again, expedited service will likely cost ya.

All good suggestions of course, however NewEgg doesn't ship parts on the weekend and this particular component was purchased separately (rather than as part of a whole system) and so the warranty for it does not guarantee same-day replacement.

Fortunately this is only one half of a mirrored pair so it's not like the system in question is actually down for the weekend but it is degraded and that's not really preferable.
