So Diesel no longer toasts bagels anymore :( and I'm just not crazy about untoasted bagels for some reason. Is there another place in the square (besides Dunkin Donuts) to get a bagel fix first thing in the morning?

Diesel *will* be toasting bagels again soon!

I went in this morning and asked about the toasting situation. Toasters keep breaking on them (apparently the outlet was wired improperly), and they were *temporarily* heating bagels up in the oven while the toaster got fixed. They've stopped heating up bagels in the *oven* because it dries them out.

Once the outlet is re-wired and their brand-new toaster gets installed, they will once again be toasting bagels!

It took the woman behind the counter a while to explain the full toaster saga--I was in there well after the morning rush. And while she was telling me, another employee came up and added the explanation about the outlet needing to be re-wired. Honestly, I think it's just a misunderstanding. An employee was told that they weren't "toasting" (heating up) bagels in the oven anymore, and communicated that as "we're not toasting bagels anymore." During a rush time, they probably wouldn't have time to explain that they're waiting for the toaster to get fixed and the outlet re-wired.

I explained some of this above--I don't know that all of the people who work there know the full saga of what's been going on with the toasters. Were you in there during a rush?

One of the things I was told yesterday is that they spent $1000 on a new toaster really recently--it worked for 5 minutes and broke because the outlet didn't have the right voltage. So this has been going on for a while. I don't think it was ever their intention to discontinue toasting bagels.
