Hi all. A friend of mine is looking for one room in the Davis/Porter area. She's a college girl, very quiet and friendly. She would prefer not to walk more than 10 min. from a T station. RC cars wanted

I am teaching an electronics class this week to some kids, and we'd like to do a hack we found in Make magazine involving an RC car. Unfortunately, we don't have any cars, and those within our budget are itsy-bitsy. I know there are lots of geeky type people in the area with loads of electronics gizmos lying around. If anyone has an old RC car they'd like to donate, please let me know ASAP.

Also, if anyone has any ideas about good (cheap) electronics projects for students who are visually impaired, that would be awesome.

Anybody get a telephone survey about smoke detectors?

Did anybody else get a telephone survey asking how many smoke detectors you have, do you have fire extinguishers, that sort of thing?

And, any idea who commissioned the survey? the city? an insurance company?

They did ask about alarms, so i'm asking around to make sure it really is a survey.
