Hi gang,

quite a few months ago there was an exhibition of pencil drawn, color arts featuring gorgeous manga-like characters on the walls of Diesel Cafe.

I'm trying to surprise someone very special with an original, but I misplaced the email address of the artist, and no-one at Diesel (including the guy who deals with the exhibits) remembers the correct email address of the artist.

Does anybody know who I am talking about? Thanks in advance!

Ward 6 Fun Fact:
According to, “Beyond the Neck: The Architecture and Development of Somerville, MA”, most of present-day Davis Square was part of the 10-acre estate of Person Davis (1819-1894). Person Davis, who moved to the area in 1850, was a grain dealer and land owner. In 1883, the Somerville City Council designated the area Davis Square after Davis even though many people had wanted to name it “Middlesex Square” to reflect a more regional market.

I have a ring that needs to be resized. Any good jewelry repair places in the area? How long does it take and how much does it usually cost? I'm clueless about these things so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Boloco's web site now lists a Davis Square location as "Coming January 2007" with hours of 7 am to 11 pm. O'Naturals hasn't taken the location off their web site yet. (Is it still open at all?)

Just in case you weren't all aware by now, you can apparently purchase calendars featuring the Madonna statues of Somerville. Little article directing you to that as well as discussing the illuminations tour here.

Sadly, the calendar misses some of my favorite lawn Marys. Like the one on Broadway with its own little lean-to, covered in blue and white ceramic bathroom tiles.
