I'm a 20 year old student moving into Somerville from Winthrop in about a week.

Couple of questions...how's the indian restaurant in town? Diva...I think it's called.

Also, what does everyone like to do?? I'd appreciate any tips!! Thanks!

Does anyone know if there is anywhere near the Square to play Frisbee Golf? It doesn't have to be an official Folf course - I'm thinking there has to be at least one unofficial course at Tufts. However I have a car so I'm willing to drive if there are courses further afield. Thanks!

All this love for the Somerville theater, its many offerings, its summer schedule....

Anyone want to meet up for the noon showing of Pee Wee's Big Adventure?  I haven't seen it since its theatrical release, when I was just a young 'un.  Additionally, am new to the area and would like to meet some neighbours.  I'll be there about 15 'til showtime, short dark hair and facial piercings, black sling back with a pro-choice insignia and set of 1" buttons.

Short notice?  Yes.  Perhaps I'll meet a few of you there?

Hey all - does anyone know someplace in Somerville where I can donate my wedding dress?

I have veggies growing in my backyard and had a friend suggest I get the soil tested for lead before I eat any, since lead is apparently common in the soil around here due to lead paint. I looked online but couldn't find anything that looked reputable enough to try, so I'd like to know what others have done to get their yards tested for lead. I've seen a few houses around here that have gardens so I don't think it's too bad a problem, but I'd like to know for sure. :)

I've heard of both sending samples in to have them tested in a lab, and test kits that you can use yourself. I searched the davis_square and b0st0n LJs and couldn't find anything about lead.

Thanks

For those of you who remember Pluto, D² will feel very familiar.  For those of you who don't, I think you'll find it is a great addition to the square.

It is located at 409 Highland Avenue.  The inside of the store looks fantastic (esp. compared to what it looked like when it was the RJ Cody Jeweler/Card Shop), and it sells lots of great gift stuff, cards, etc.  And, the Davis Square T-shirts that Pluto sold are available too!

No, I don't work there or anything.  I'm just happy it's open!

Hello,
I'll be dropping my son off at daycare in Davis Sq and would like to park there for the day instead of heading to Alewife, taking the T to Davis Sq and getting back on to get to work in Boston.   I need a spot Mon-Thurs from approx 8am-6pm.  Anyone interested?
Thanks,
Mary
