Hello people of [livejournal.com profile] davis_square!

Comic book shop The Million Year Picnic is holding a SIGNING on TUESDAY!!!

SHOOTING WAR creators Anthony Lappe and Dan Goldman will be appearing at the Million Year Picnic on Tuesday, 11/27/2007 from 4-6pm.

We have a limited number of the books in stock, so come by early if you want to buy a copy first!

I'm partway through the book and it's pretty damned interesting. It's set in 2011. The war in Iraq is still going and there's more terror in America than ever before. A blogger parlays his accidental state of instant celebrity into a job reporting from Baghdad and that's just in the first few pages.

The Million Year Picnic is in Harvard Square, 99 Mt. Auburn Street (downstairs), Cambridge, MA 02138, 671-492-6763.

There is still a fair bit of stuff in the Pile O' Free Stuff up at 22 Prospect Hill Ave. It will be out until late tonight (Saturday), if not later. If you're in the area, come on by and check out the books, clothes, shelves, and knick knacks.

What is your favorite day spa in the general area? Car-required is fine.

Some awesome friends want to give me a gift certificate and asked where it should be for, but I can't really offer a suggestion as I haven't been to many places in the area. Ideally, I'm looking for a place that has both some variety of bodywork as well as facials. Reasonable prices are a bonus, too. (They mentioned Bella Sante in Lexington and on Newbury St, but their prices are astronomical. I wonder if maybe there are places with less ritzy addresses but still great service?)

Thanks!

Does anyone know where to find blank microscope slides locally?

I know I can order them online, but local is (hopefully) faster.

Thanks!

I just want to know what the best way to find an apartment for rent would be. Craigslist seems to be what everyone is telling me, but no matter how often I look I can't seem to find anything.

:sigh:

TIA

EDIT: I am just looking for the best sources to find places to live
Thanks.
