Spare Change bait, Boston Now switch
Jan. 20th, 2008 01:45 pmThe other morning I was in a generous mood and handed over my dollar. What he approached me with was a Spare Change newspaper, but what he slipped me was a Boston Now. I didn't catch on at first. I'm slow enough that I had time to find it surprising that the Spare Change newspaper had gotten fancy headlines and color photography. It was a few seconds later that he was gone and I realized what had happened.
Since by that time I was paying attention, I noticed that he pulled the same bait-and-switch on another commuter, who, it didn't seem to me, had even noticed.
It just left me feeling weird. I don't regret giving him the dollar, but I also know that I'm likely to ignore him for quite a while.

Bring some friends and a game, enjoy a burrito and a smoothie, have fun.
Most of the film activity still rests on the shoulders of MIT as Harvard’s students are mostly away until the end of the month and Tufts just got back and haven’t cranked up the movies yet. I believe that Tufts will have their Film Series going this coming weekend, so I’ll update you as soon as I know more.
See the complete calendar online. There are two ways to access it:
· Directly through the link http://tinyurl.com/2z8spc
· Add the calendar through Google Calendar. Search for Joe’s BFF – Boston Free Films (any phrase should find it) and you can incorporate it with your own calendar.
Here are the films for the next week from Medford-Somerville-Cambridge-Boston. Please let me know of changes, additions and new sources of films. I am always looking for new sources of free cinema.
