I was looking online on Somerville's city website for a list of everything that is going to be on the ballot this Tuesday with the wording of all of the questions, all of the people running etc, so I could do a little more background research ahead of time.  They only have blurry pictures of sample ballots and none for my ward.  I was sent something a few weeks ago, but of course now I can't find it.  Is there any other way to get this information?  I am surprised this is not on their website....

The Boston Globe City Weekly section mentions http://community.livejournal.com/davis_square/1508297.html in a brief article about the demonstration in front of the West Branch library.  It was originally supposed to be a parade planned by the New England Haiti Hurricane Relief Task Force.

I found a bike in the bushes of an abandoned lot.  It looks too nice to have been thrown away.  I am guessing it was stolen and joyridden.  It is a K2.  If anyone on this message board had a K2 bikes stolen send me a PM with some identifying characteristics (there are many) and I will reunite you.  If I don't get any responses I'll get in touch with the stolen bikes unit of the police but I wanted to check here first.

A handful of films at Tufts plus a movie at the Somerville Library this week. Maybe better pickings later in the week.

The Tufts Film Series is showing the documentaries "Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?" and "Taxi to the Dark Side" next weekend, plus a final screening of "Psycho" tonight.

You can see "Dei fetten Jahre sind vorbei" on Monday night and "Syrian Bride" on Tuesday, both at Tufts. There is a possibility of a last minute Iranian film scheduled, but I haven't gotten confirmation yet. Coming soon Russian and French films.

The main branch of the Somerville Library continues their Irish Film Series with "My Left Foot" on Tuesday night.

The Tufts LGBT Center will play "Red Without Blue" on Monday and the Medford Public Library will show "Kilowatt Ours" on Wednesday.

Coming attractions... )

I feel like there's an obvious answer for this that I'm totally missing, but I've wracked my brain and can't see the forest for the trees.

Is there a community kitchen or something like it in the area? I'm talking about a large industrial kitchen that an individual or group can rent/reserve to do big cooking projects. I imagine I could call around and ask a couple of the churches but since I'm not a member of any church I think I'd feel weird doing that.

This isn't for any official group -- I just have a few friends who would like to all have a pre-holiday cooking get together.
