Hello there friends!
As some of you know i've been cleaning houses in the Boston & Somerville areas for a while. I want to thank everyone who has recommended me.

I am no longer offering long term help in the area, but for the next two weeks, i am offering one of those spring cleaning dealies. I'm not one for crazy marketing, so to make it short, if your house is so messy that professional cleaners want you to clean before they come clean, your kitchen is so piled with dishes you forgot you have counters, and you just want someone else to fold your laundry and neatly, then you may want to take me up on this. i'd even love to babysit your kids.
bonus: i'll make you vegan chocolate cake.

so! if you're interested, email me at richips at livejournal.com
thanks!

Hey everyone-
I have a friend who wants to bring his documentary (about the history of Garage Rock in Detroit) to the East Coast and I agreed to help him find a venue for it.
Anyone have any ideas on how to set up screenings at movie theaters? From what I'm gathering from the websites of Somerville Theater, Coolidge, Reagent, etc.  it looks like I have to rent the theater (which seems expensive and I'm not sure he had to rent a venue back in Detroit)- is there anything else I should know/ routes I should pursue before I start contacting theaters to rent? Do colleges around here do anything like this?
I know this is completely random- but I think it would be great to bring this into Davis/Somerville (I mean, they don't say "Somerville Rocks!" on all those flags for nothin') and you guys always seem to have answers :)
Here is the trailer if anyone is interested.

Two community meetings this week:

Powder House Community School Re-Use Discussion
Tues May 19th 7-8:30pm
Tufts Admin Building 167 Holland St
Discuss community input on re-use options for the Powder House School on Broadway. (I have no idea what the options are)

Ward 6 ResiStat meeting
Wed May 20th 7pm
Community Room of the First Congregational Church 89 College Ave
Department Heads and elected officials will be at the meeting to provide updates and hear concerns.
*I went to the last Ward 6 ResiStat meeting, and there were more city employees than Ward 6 residents. Don't just complain to LiveJournal. Show up to the meeting and complain to people who might actually be able to do something about it.
