You may not know him by his name, but if you've walked around PowderHouse square and noticed a homeless guy yelling at people as they walk by, then you know Angry Mike.  This guy scares the heck out of my wife because he can be loud and aggressive.

Anyway, someone posted last month (that post has been removed) that flashing him the peace sign calms him down and I'm here to attest to that. I was driving through Union Square and got stuck at the main intersection, I saw Angry Mike walking up the sidewalk yelling at people and looking around.  I caught his attention and flashed him the peace sign, he did a double take and smiled at me and put his hand over his heart.  It really seamed to change his mood (at least for that moment).

So there ya go, thanks to the person who gave this little gem!

Here's the Craigslist post: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/gms/1235579880.html

A bunch of geeky folks are getting together to sell off the accumulation of years. Mystery novels, sci-fi novels, roleplaying games, PS2 games, quilting fabric, all kinds of things, as well as the usual basic clothes, housewares, dishes and such. Original crafts, too.

It's happening at 112 Woodstock Street on June 27th (this Saturday) from 12 noon to 4:00. (No early birds!)

Woodstock is right off of Broadway; take Broadway west to Waterhouse and turn left onto Victoria to reach the street.

Hope to see you there!

I am thinking about trying to find a new apartment for September 1st when my lease comes up. I know it is the most high demand time so I've been looking on Craigslist but its a bit too early it seems. Therefore, I'm resorting to finding a realtor, but I've had bad experiences with them in the past trying to take advantage of me. Can anyone recommend someone or a company that they liked? I would like to stay in the Porter/Davis/Teele area. Thanks!

When you are riding a bicycle on public ways, state law subjects you to the same basic laws and regulations that apply to motor vehicle operators. The list below (dont know how to make the cut link deal) shows some other rules that I wasnt aware of, like sidewalk use, reflective ankle bands, etc...

Hi all. I was coming out of the Davis T stop this evening and saw a pigeon hanging out underneath the overhang on the concession stand. It looked pretty sick, all fluffed up and not moving, red spots on either side of its eyes. I called and left a voicemail for Somerville Animal Control; hopefully they will come and pick it up tomorrow.

On the voicemail they also have a number for the Animal Rescue League at 617-226-9170 but that number does not appear to be working right now.

Thanks to this community I was able to find the number from the posts about the turkey a while ago.

[I tagged this with "wildlife" since I can't find a non-pets animal tag and I thought that animal would be too general.]
