I've got two great leather bags for sale:

$20 - One brown leather document bag with a few scuff marks and a single small scratch. Otherwise in great condition. Has retractable handles and a slim profile.

$30 - One black leather bag with one pocket with binder rings for hole-punched papers, another pocket with places for ID, cards, and a pen. Comes with original pen. Excellent condition.

D&D 4e Anyone?

So I recently got into D&D (read: n00b), and I was wondering if there were any individuals/groups in the area that play as well. I went to a few tag sales this past weekend (and read a few posts on here), and realized there is potentially more than quite a few other geeks out there (not to mention YMG is like 2 seconds from my apartment).

Would there be anyone out there who would like to get something going, or perhaps already has something going that is willing to take in a 4e newb? Thanks!

Someone has been getting really creative with the telephone wiring in my neighborhood. There are some other similarly amusing/frightening installations nearby, but this is clearly the winner.

Is there some sort of dispute in progress between the town and utilities? Is this just business as usual? I haven't seen work like this since visiting Nigeria:

An article in the Somerville Journal quotes Alderman Pero as saying "city officials can't give in to constituent concerns."  Huh?  Isn't this otherwise known as listening to the people who voted you into office?  And will vote you out?  I understand they haven't come up with the right answer yet, but this statement is arrogant and lame.

Cop convention at bank at Cedar and Highland

Did that bank get robbed AGAIN? There are about a zillion cops there and as I walked by I heard a man in plainclothes say "I think we may have our suspect already." Anyone have any news... I can't find anything but my google-fu is hampered by a cranky 3-year-old.

I have an 8gb ipod iTouch that I got with my macbook.  It's the newest version, still in its original packaging.  Just wanted to see if anyone wanted to buy it off me for $200 (they sell for $229 on the Apple website). Notes from Powder House School meeting today

As I posted back here, there was a meeting about the future of the Powder House School today at the TAB building. Despite the short notice and early evening time, it was well attended (maybe 45 people?). ron_newman was also there, as were Aldermen Trane, Gewirtz and Connolly, and for most of the meeting Mayor Curtatone. We also learned that the 5:30 time was chosen because they'd though the city budget hearings would still be underway tonight, but because the budget was finalized late last night the officials were able to stay at the meeting and in fact the meeting was able to go an extra half hour or so.

Several of us in the community are considering starting an informal group to further discuss what we as neighbors want from the redevelopment of the site. If you're interested, drop me a comment here and I'll be sure to let you know what's up.

The city representative running the meeting promised to post the consultants' powerpoint and data to answer several questions from both constituents and Aldermen Trane and Gewirtz, so I'll add that link to this post as soon as it's available and I can track it down. For that reason I'm not adding all the exact figures and stuff to the already long notes section of this post.
