Hi, folks!

I'm looking for someone to take over my lease starting November 1 (or 15, but preferably 1)  for a room in a wonderful three-bedroom apartment just off the Powderhouse rotary.  It's a great place with great roommates, and the only reason I'm leaving is because I  just got a job in Washington, DC.

Are you  or someone you know a responsible, nonsmoking, female young professional or grad student looking for a lovely place to call home starting next month? If so, read on for more details! Read more... )

I usually send out a reminder 1 week before and then the day before, but I forgot to send one out on Saturday (I guess I needed a reminder to send out the reminder, but I digress..).

We are going to meet at 1pm outside of Johnny D's for brunch on Saturday afternoon (the 24th). Please get there 5 minutes early because right at 1pm is when we will do a count and put in for a table. We might have to split into separate tables if there are too many people. If you arrive a few minutes late, come inside and we could possibly pull up another chair.

Also, it would be wicked cool if you would bring cash as they will not divide up the bill on multiple credit cards (you either put the whole thing on a credit card or else everyone pays their share + tip in cash).

If you are going to be there, let me know as I'd like a rough count for Saturday.

Hi Davis Square! So it wasn't snow in July, which apparently happened in 1955, but if yesterday's flurries has you thinking about what Climate Change means for Boston, then you should check out:

What: Boston Under Water Festival (as part of 350.org's International Day of Climate Action)
Whatx2: Beach and Water games, Climate Theater, Sandbag Flood Barriers and More!
Who: Somerville Climate Action, 350 Massachusetts, etc. AND YOU!
When: Saturday 10/24 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Where: Christopher Columbus Park (Map)

Short and simple: where can I get a watch battery replaced locally? I know I can go to any random big dept. store but it's so much easier to run errands when it doesn't take an extra trip somewhere. Thanks!

I am looking for something fairly specific in a bookshelf--square openings, not terribly shallow--for craft and office storage. I can get what I want at Ikea (4x4 Expedit, basically) but it would be pretty darn heavy to lug up to the 3rd floor and pretty immovable once it was assembled. Aside from the unfinished furniture place that is roughly behind Porter Square near Beacon St, what are my local options? I have a car and I can go get it, delivery would be fairly nice.

I was reading good things on Yelp about Eddie's (the place roughly behind Porter Square on Elm St) and I'd love to hear more about them, or other places around here.
