The election is coming up next week and I don't really know anything about the candidates. Mark Niedergang stopped by my house a couple of weeks ago and I liked his ideas enough to want to vote for him. Any thoughts on the other people who are running? Any relevant issues people differ on? Any good website recommendations to find out more?

Thanks!

Long shot, I know, but years ago, H&M had a black spiderweb tiara, which my girlfriend bought. She loves it, but broke it. Does anyone have one of these they would be willing to sell me? She's pretty upset and I would love to be able to replace it.

I just noticed that the blue light in the middle of Davis Square (across from Mike's) is flashing. I thought it was supposed to flash during a snow emergency, but there's not any snow forecast--anyone know what else it could mean?

I thought I should pass on a warning...The Brown School (public K-6 on Willow & Kidder) sent home those "Trick or Treat for UNICEF" boxes. If you are going to be passing out treats on Halloween and would like to contribute, you may want to keep your jar of pocket change nearby.

Well look no further than THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW.!!!! The Full Body Cast is proud to present not one but TWO sexytime Halloween extravaganzas!

When? Tonight AND Tomorrow at midnight! Come early and come often!
Where? The AMC theater on Church St in Harvard Sq
What? We are a shadow cast production performing in front of a screening of the film. In addition to this we are presenting our HALLOWEEN SPECTACULAR a full half hour of pre-show skits and snazziness. Gauranteed to titillate, scintillate and other such slightly naughty words.
Who? You darlings! Come to the show, dress in your Halloween best and have a fabulous time.

further info at the Full Body Cast's official website.

Hope to see all you lovelies there!

So, as one of the local pagan-types, I think that the May Pole on the bike path (near Willow) was just a beautiful and lovely tradition and I was so glad to see it when it went up in May. But now that Samhain (Halloween, to you muggles) is just about here, it is probably time to think about taking it down, what do you think? It's come untied, the fabric ribbons are getting ratty -- I'd rather remember it as the beautiful and whimsical signpost on the path rather than as a decrepit and ugly mouldering piece of public art gone awry.

That said, unless there are strenuous (and logical) objections, I volunteer to take it down on Nov. 1, if the folks who put it up don't want to. (Or at least to try -- I may need to rent a ladder...)

What time will the kids be out trick or treating?  I can't find it on the city's website.  Does Somerville not have set hours for trick or treat?

Where can a procrastinator go to get a bunch of pumpkins for a party tomorrow? Cheap is priority over size or perfection. Small pumpkins are fine, as long as they can still be carved! I have a car. Thanks!
