Lost jacket

I lost a short, light green, linen jacket yesterday (Sat June 5) somewhere in Davis, probably on Elm or Highland at around 5:30pm. It was slung over my purse and it must have dropped in the street. I would love to find it but I'm not optimistic. Please let me know if you or anyone you know might have seen it. Thanks so much!

Does anyone know of a local paint shop that can spray some sheet metal brackets for me? They are about 30" long and 4" wide.

I found an office ID badge on the sidewalk outside the Haitian Church of the Holy Bible on College Ave around 4:45 PM, right after the storm ended. If you think it's yours get in touch (e-mail in profile) and we can figure something out to get it back to you.

The back says I can drop it in the mailbox for guaranteed postage home—I'll do that if nobody claims it by tomorrow.

This afternoon's storm ripped down a sidewalk tree on Day Street near Herbert, in front of the metered parking lot. Just a bit of the trunk remains in the ground; the rest of the tree is lying on the sidewalk now.

I've often seen tree damage in that location after storms. I hate to say it, but maybe the city should give up trying to plant a tree there.

What other damage have people seen today around Somerville?

Edit: If the damage is on city property such as streets, sidewalks, utility poles, and sewers, please report it to the city by calling 311 as well as posting here.

This kitty started following us near the the Powderhouse park, down Powderhouse Terrace and down Kidder Ave. Last seen entering 15 kidder with a nice neighbor, for the night only. Cat seemed overly friendly and scared. Will be released by neighbor in the AM.

crime maps

In some of the threads that have arisen in response to the awesome crime maps provided by [livejournal.com profile] pythonpowered, one question that sometimes get asked is, "Why hasn't some other larger or more official agency already done this?" Today I discovered that bpdnews.com actually links to the site

http://www.crimereports.com/

Basically you can plug in a place and time period and get a map of where crimes have been reported. I haven't compared these maps to those provided by [livejournal.com profile] pythonpowered, so I wouldn't call them a replacement, but I did think the community might want to know about this other resource tool.
