I'm hoping for some pointers on fighting this one. I got a notice in the mail the other day claiming I hadn't paid a parking ticket from the beginning of May. Well, considering I never GOT one, I can see why I never paid it.

But I know that won't help me any. However, I know for a fact that the night and time and place where I supposedly earned this ticket, I had a visitor permit in my car window. Now it's not like I have a picture with a date stamp to prove this, of course, but I could get the exact address and permit # of the person who has the permit I used. Heck, I could have 6 people vouch for my whereabouts and that I was using it even. But how much of this do I need to successfully contest this ticket (which never appeared on my windshield to begin with)? Or will none of it matter, and I'm stuck with this thing regardless even if I go in to my contest the ticket hearing with all of that or some of that?

Anyone know what exactly I might need to have this thing nixed, or am I indeed screwed? Thanks in advance!

As a reminder, tomorrow is the meetup at Joe Sent Me in North Cambridge. We've been there several times in the past. They are very nice to us and welcome us back each time. We will start arriving at 7pm and will meet in the back corner near the dart boards.

I've lived in the Boston area long enough to know the apartment hunting routine, and I've never had too much of an issue before, but for some reason, I'm just not having luck finding much this time. We'd really like to stay in the Davis-Teele-Ball area. If any of you know of a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment that allows dogs, is less than 1300 a month, and is available August 1, please let me know.

7:00 p.m.

Join us for services followed by a potluck, dairy/vegetarian Shabbat dinner. Services at Havurat Shalom are egalitarian, lay-led and usually involve a lot of singing. The potluck is truly pot luck - no arranging of the dishes in advance. The meal is a good time to meet people and we welcome newcomers.

I just got a chance to try out the new yoga place in Davis, Samara Yoga: http://samarayogastudio.com/

Small class, nice music, peaceful space, great movement and excellent, friendly teacher. Also they have a special for new students $25 for two weeks of classes, which I took advantage of.

Thought I'd post in case someone was looking for a new yoga venue :)

Come see Theatre@First's one-weekend revival of "The Margaret Ghost" by Carole Braverman!

Several Davis Square denizens are appearing on stage in "The Margaret Ghost" - a witty and engaging play about the life of Margaret Fuller. Author, editor, critic, war correspondent, advocate for women's rights and social reform, Fuller blazed a trail for herself and for all women against the grain of the nineteenth century. Join Fuller and her contemporaries, including Ralph Waldo Emerson and Nathaniel Hawthorne, for a night of history, humor, romance and revolution as Theatre@First celebrates the Margaret Fuller Bicentennial. Check out the 1-minute trailer at http://vimeo.com/12241091

FOUR SHOWS ONLY! THIS WEEKEND!

I was told by some of the workers last week that Yellow Playground (Curtis-Hodgkins?) on Holland Ave is set to reopen this Saturday with a ribbon cutting ceremony? Does anyone have any more info or know if this is correct?

Thanks!

I'm looking to purchase a number of plain, white or beige classic Chinese paper lanterns, hopefully around 10", but a size selection would be ideal. Do you know of a store in the area that sells them? The cheaper, the better.

Hi everyone,

Tomorrow night we're having another sprout spaghetti dinner at 339R Summer St. The theme for this dinner is Gender and Fashion. We're going to have Eugene Tan from The Theater Offensive performing as his drag persona Becca D'Bus and Aimee Rose Ranger performing a "Death by Lipstick" dance piece. There will also be some miniature fashion shows made up of local people ranging from professional women's attire to DIY and recycled clothing all the way to bike fashion.

The spaghetti--prepared and served by Food Not Bombs--starts at 7:30 and the performances start at 8PM. There is a $10 suggested donation to cover costs. Feel free to show up at 6PM if you want to walk the runway!

hope to see you there, and let me know if you have any questions (spaghetti@thesprouts.org)
