Tonight - Thursday, July 29, I went to Davis Sq. to see the outdoor screening of Vertigo.
During the 2 hour movie, there were at least 40-50 low flying planes overhead. Very difficult to focus on the movie.

Two other evenings this week planes passed over my house at least once every 2 minutes between 4-9pm.

I know they say it's wind dependent, but does anyone know if this is getting more frequent? I think I'll have to move if this is going to be the norm. It's pretty stressful to me and I don't think I can adapt.

I emailed and called in a complaint, but in the past, these haven't really done anything.

Please excuse yet another moving post: Has anyone ever used ABF U-pack to move to/from Somerville? Not the pod or "relocube" option, but the you-pack we-drive trailer space? When we called 311, they told us parking the trailer would be okay. But when we went in person to get the spaces reserved, they told us that: parking a moving container (or pod) is okay, parking an entire trailer truck is okay, but parking the trailer and driving the cab away (which ABF does) is not okay. They wouldn't park overnight, just during the day with the spaces reserved. Has anyone successfully done this trailer move with or without being ticketed? The parking office says it could be $40/hr fine until we move the unattached trailer. Does anyone understand why a pod is okay, but an almost equally-sized unattached trailer is not ok? If they can't drive the cab away, ABF will charge us $80/hr after the first hour for their driver to sit in his cab and watch us move. Hmm...

I got a groupon for O2 Yoga a while back and it turns out that i'm not going to be able to use it.  It's for $50 for a one month membership (unlimited classes).  I'm hoping that someone out there might like to buy it from me.  It expires on september 12, meaning you have to activate it before then and then its good for 30 days from whenever you first activated it.  email me if interested at my LJ username at yahoo.com
Namaste!

I have a queen-size mattress, box spring, and frame that I would love to find a new home for. It's only a couple years old and is in like-new condition. I am moving in with my boyfriend and we currently have a one bed surplus. If you'd like it, please come by 243 Summer St, Apt 1 or leave a comment and we can arrange a time for you to come by.

Thanks!

This and next weekend, there'll be shuttle service between Kendall and Park St, for track improvements at Charles/MGH.

I bought one of the newfangled swipe at a parking meter cards on a whim, and it seems finicky about swiping (takes multiple tries) and works sluggishly. I'm going to give it a few more tries before I give up on it, but I'm curious as to whether this matches other people's experiences.

After that, if it still sucks, I plan to find out what happens when I take it back and ask for a refund of its cash balance.
