I'm considering moving to an apartment with oil heating. Really not crazy about that, but on balance it might all work out. I've been reading through the heating oil posts, and got a lot of good information from them (thanks, denizens! MassEnergy is definitely on my radar), but am still not sure how much I'd end up paying per winter.

For those with oil heating, how many gallons do you end up using per winter, for how many square feet, and at what average temperature? Or just for this winter, with its crazy temperatures.

ETA: This is, of course, a more complex issue than just square footage and internal temperature! I've done some research, and am doing more. Right now, I'm more interested in local numbers than anything else. :) If you have more variables to share with me in the context of your numbers, I'll be even more grateful!

We have a couple hundred USPS priority boxes here in our office that we won't use. They're box #O-1095, specs are here. They come in boxes of 25 and we have at least 8 boxes to spare, maybe more if you need them.

These are free from the USPS, but they do seem to take forever to arrive so maybe it would be helpful for someone who wants them right away. That's actually how we ended up with so many: Ordered them for a big mailing, and they took so long to show up that we ended up buying some elsewhere to get the first batch out. Bah humbug.

Available for pick-up only (because I don't have a car myself!) near Porter Square. Our office hours are weekdays 10am-6pm, so that would be ideal, or I can see about being here at another time if necessary.

Hey kids!

How's this for random:

I'm really hungry and all my current friends are pre-occupied.

I have this extremely strong need for Posto, especially their Bruschetta and Pizza.

Anyone out there want to get dinner?

I promise I'm not a serial killer!

Tufts is doing fireworks tonight. (Right Now, even.) But near the campus I also hear quite a chorus of emergency sirens just now - did something unexpected happen with the fireworks, or just coincidence?
