Walmart Market coming to Somerville

 Not really in Davis Square I know. It's going to be in the old Circuit City location next to Home Depot.

Seems like we have a lot of supermarkets here already. Star, Market Basket, 2 Johnny's Foodmasters, Stop and Shop and Kmart (OK that's a stretch). Also a Whole Foods and a Shaws right on the city lines.

Lawn Mower for sale

I suspect most denizens of the Davis LJ live (as I do) someplace where the landlord takes care of the lawn. But on the off chance someone's in the market, I thought I'd pass on my craigslist posting. I'm obviously prejudiced, but I really do think it's a pretty good deal: A virtually new mower that just happens to have been in storage with the tank drained for seven years, for half what it's going for new.

IKEA Somerville delayed

Since the subject of the IKEA store came up in the comments to the last post, here is a link to a Somerville Patch article on it: IKEA granted extension on construction permits. It seems that the head office has not approved funding to build that store, so it's up in the air when (and maybe even if) it will get built.

The former Poor Little Rich Girl storefront, in the Gorin Building, no longer has FOR LEASE signs, and now has paper covering all of the glass windows and door. Anyone know who's moving in here?

Also, Actors' Shakespeare Project's printed 2011-2012 season brochure says they will be staging The Merry Wives of Windsor at "Davis Square Theatre (formerly Jimmy Tingle's), 255 Elm Street", December 7, 2011 through January 1, 2012.
