Hi everyone!

I always post about these things kind of late, but I wanted to invite anyone who's interested to tomorrow night's spaghetti dinner over at sprout. It's a dinner + performances & lectures type of thing, and tomorrow night's theme is The Miniature. We'll have a toy instrument orchestra, discussion about scale in art and engineering, and some miniature performances as well (notably, a toy theater excerpt from the musical Oklahoma!)

That's tomorrow at 730PM at 339R Summer St. if you'd like to join us...

Hi everyone! What's your favorite Vietnamese food-serving place around here? I'm hoping for someone that delivers to the Davis or Teele areas. I am specifically hoping for yummy pho at my front door :).

Thanks in advance!

I was wasting time browsing the SN site and saw this poll (Today's Poll):

Should the word “Christmas” be taken out of all things pertaining to “Christmas” and replaced with the word “Holiday”?

Given that there are many kinds of holidays around the same time, and that there are people from many religions (including atheists) in Somerville, isn't it obvious that referring to this period as "Christmas" would exclude many people? What am I missing? Glad that "YES" is winning, but not by much.

If you missed both the Illuminations Trolley Tour and the Illuminations Bicycle Tour this weekend, you've still got plenty of time to see Somerville's festive holiday lights.

Starting tomorrow, Magpie in Davis Square and Blue Cloud Gallery in Ball Square will sell trolley tour maps for $3, benefiting the Somerville Arts Council. Also, we now have Google maps of all three tours online:

East/Central Somerville Illuminations Trolley route. This is the traditional trolley route through Winter Hill and East Somerville. The Arts Council made this map but did not mark the individual houses on it.

Somerville Illuminations Bicycle route. Brian Postlewaite and I made this one, which covers much of the same territory as the trolley route but in a more bicycle-friendly way. We marked all of the major lit houses on this map.

West Somerville Illuminations Trolley route. For the first time ever, the Arts Council sent some of its trolleys westward to see well-lit houses not on its traditional route. (Lexington Avenue, represent! You too, Grove Street.) I made this map based on a script that Greg Jenkins of the Arts Council sent me.

Also worth checking out are a few houses that weren't on either trolley route:
If your favorite house isn't listed here, please comment!
