Hey Moderators, I wanted to check in about a post before I made it, as I don't want to use the forum inappropriately. A friend of mine, who lived in Davis Square for numerous years, and is more recently in Union Square, is a director and is almost finished with the documentary he has been working on for 4 years. He is out of funding, though, and has set up a kickstarter.com page to help come up with the last bit of money. I was hoping to post about it here to try to generate more interest and support, but don't want to spam the boards.... I will comply with whatever I am told. :)

Thanks!

Hi Davis Square members,

A friend of mine is a director and has been working on a documentary for 4 years. It is almost complete, but he needs to raise another $15K in the next 21 days, and has set up a kickstarter campaign to help with that. He lived in Davis Square for several years, and is now in Union, so I hope that is a close enough counnection. More info behind the cut. Thanks for considering it!

In the short term I rec'd a coffee cake from the Boston Coffee Cake Company.  It is obviously not a canned good, but it is sealed in platic and a box and it is fancy.  I won't be able to consume it.  Where can I donate it?

In the long term, where can I donate canned goods?  I'm looking for something convenient and reliable in the sense that they always accept donations during certain hours.  EG analogous to when I want to donate clothes I just go to Salvation Army or Goodwill during their business hours, I don't have to think about it, or wait for a clothing drive etc.

Hello, Davis Square.

I'm looking for space for a couple different types of meetings:

1- Space for meetings for Occupy Somerville. I expect we'll need varying sizes - large rooms, for General Assemblies (we had about 50 people at our first, but that was outside, so I expect we'll get more people in indoor spaces), and smaller spaces, for working groups (though groups that are relatively small can definitely easily meet in coffee shops). Proximity to Davis Square is not required; in fact, suggestions for good meeting spaces all over Somerville would be good! Our first priority is finding a big space for GAs.

Preferred times - probably evenings.

2- Space for a group of crafters and artists to meet, once or twice a month. Doesn't have to be in Somerville at all, though I am personally biased towards not having to commute into Boston. If we could fit 30 people in to a space with tables and chairs, for working on sometimes messy stuff, that would be ideal! We promise to clean up thoroughly.

Preferred day/time - Saturdays, midday/afternoon/evening, but other days and times may be possible.

In both cases, we're looking for space that is available for no charge or for very low fees.

(Wow. I don't even know what to tag this.)
