I moved to Somerville a year ago and got Comcast for cable and internet.  I am happy with service but price just jumped $95 to $143 and Comcast says I no longer qualify for any bundle offer.  RCN seems to have  three year price guarantee of $79, $89 and then $99.  Doe anyone have an opinion on either service and if I should switch?

There's a free air conditioner on my porch at 7 Bay State that's yours to pick up. It works perfectly well; my landlord just made me get a new one that doesn't drip so much (I think all air conditioners drip, but whatever). It fit just fine in my 24-inch window with the help of the accordion thingies (also on the porch). Yesterday, the state Department of Conservation and Recreation finished and opened the last missing link of the Alewife Brook bike path, alongside Route 16 in Somerville and Cambridge.

Instead of having to negotiate a narrow dirt path, you can now walk or bike on a beautiful new boardwalk, just north of the Henderson Street bridge (map here). The newly paved and widened path now runs continuously between Mass. Ave. in Cambridge and the Mystic Valley Parkway bridge.

I posted some photos to the Somerville Bicycle Committee's Facebook page, and have included one below, behind the lj-cut. Also, here'a a Google map showing all of the Alewife path sections in Arlington, Cambridge, and Somerville.

Does anyone have any recommendations for cleaners post large scale home renovation? Not just a run of the mill cleaning, but "OMG there is sawdust and plaster dust EVERYWHERE and I will never get this clean on my own" cleaners? If you've used someone and found them to do a good job, let me know. I'll also search Angie's list for suggestions. Thanks!

Hi-

Just wanted to let people here know that our Kickstarter campaign to help bring what is looking like close to 35 bands to Davis Square (phew!) is ending in less than two weeks. If you'd like to support the festival, we could really use your help at:

http://honkfest.org/kickstarter.

EDIT: I'm sorry, I totally forgot to mention something when I posted this yesterday. If you've never heard of HONK! or even if you have but don't want to contribute to the Kickstarter campaign, you might find it cool to check out the 3 minute video on that page. I think it gives a nice flavor of the festival that might encourage you to join us in October.

EDIT #2: Kickstarter campaign successfully funded at 119%! See comment below.

Thanks!
