The Somerville Squeezebox Slam, this afternoon (Saturday 6/15), is "a celebration of accordions, button boxes and other free standing reed instruments".

From 1 to 3 pm, it's an unstructured "stroll around Somerville, ultimately congregating in Davis Square". From 3 to 6 pm, it's in Seven Hills Park, with this schedule:

Free Heirloom Sweet Pepper Sprouts

Would anyone like some or all of these five California Wonder sweet pepper sprouts? I don't have room left on my balcony to foster them into adulthood, but they're heirloom and yummy/versatile and I hate to waste them. They're behind season but will fruit in August-September. Sprouted in organic potting soil. I'll be home all weekend on Bay State Avenue if anyone would like to adopt. All gone! But the topsy-turvies are still available.

EDIT: Also available for free: two 2 topsy-turvy planters, brand new in their boxes. When full and watered they weigh 70+ pounds, so make sure you have something sturdy to hang them from so you don't rip a chunk of your house out like I did.

lawn mower servicing

I've been using a push mower for several years but this year it doesn't seem to be working very well on some of the weeds in my yard. We've sharpened the blades but I think I need to pull the old gas mower out of the basement. The gas mower we have was left by the previous renters who said it works, but I've never used it - is there a local place to take it to get it serviced - I'm sure the gas has gummed up and the oil probably needs drained. Thanks!
