This has been going around Facebook among a lot of my friends recently:
This just happened in Davis Square station: this cop was following a black kid and when the kid (who did nothing), asked him why, he said "what, are you gonna say 'hands up don't shoot'?"

One friend said someone contacted the Somerville Police, who responded that the person in the photograph is not anyone who works for the Somerville Police, and doesn't appear to be wearing a police uniform of any sort at all. Though if he was impersonating a police officer they'd like to know.

Anyone here know anything about this incident?

My boyfriend and I are moving away from our Davis Sq apartment super close to the T. We're breaking lease and are helping to find people to move in. Here are the deets -

It’s really big: there’s an eat-in kitchen and a spacious living room, as well as one large bedroom and one smaller bedroom. It’s the perfect size for a couple but also works well for roommates as the smaller bedroom is offset by having a giant closet. There’s an absolutely huge backyard with a table and plenty of gardening space, as well as a front and back porch. There’s even free dedicated washer and dryer in the basement and tons of storage space. The landlord is shovels out the stairs and sidewalk immediately and he’s very responsive for apartment problems. Recently replaced water heater. No fee since you’d be going through the landlord directly.

Here’s the Craigslist post: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/abo/4796981677.html

Thanks guys! I hope this posting helps someone on here; it’d be a shame to let this gem go unnoticed.

In the next few weeks I'll need last-minute transportation from Davis Square to Belmont. Can you recommend a cab company that's reliable, at least recently? Or tell me of one that isn't? Thank you.

Just received a Resistat email with 3 updates to the Somerville snow policy:

-Timelines: The timelines for removing snow have changed. If snow stops falling during the night (after sunset), you must shovel your sidewalk by 10 a.m. If snow stops falling during the day (after sunrise), you must shovel your sidewalk by 10 p.m.

-Fines: Fines for not removing snow have doubled. The first offense will cost you $50, the second offense is $100, and the third and subsequent offenses are $200.

-"Clean and lien:" If you don't shovel your sidewalk after three days or more, the City can clear the snow from around your property and charge you for it.
