Large-format color printing
Nov. 15th, 2010 11:35 amIs there anywhere I can go nearby to get an 11x17 high-quality color print (ideally on decent acid-free paper) on short-notice? Thanks!
(If anyone was going to suggest it, the UPS store on Highland, which I used once in an emergency to print a couple of signs, is terrible. The output was horrific quality and they tried to charge me for multiple prints even though the only reason we had to do it over was because their printer kept screwing up. Luckily, it was just for a Halloween costume, so the fact that the ink was bleeding all over the place wasn't that big a deal, but this one is actual art. :)
ETA: The art is graphical in nature, not photographic, if that affects anyone's response.

Date: 2010-11-15 04:51 pm (UTC)We've always done large quantities (promo posters, etc), so I'm not sure if they have minimums or if a single/small quantity print would be prohibitively expensive, but maybe worth a call anyway? Everything we've done with them has always been great quality.

Date: 2010-11-15 05:36 pm (UTC)That frame store between harvard¢ral (near the game store, "Big Picture"?) advertises that they make these sorts of prints. I'd ask to see samples first or check yelp.
mpix.com could probably ship it some sort of superfast method. they are my favorite online printer and are usually fairly fast. I can attest to their quality. All of my pro photographer friends use them.

* Seriously, a handwritten sign stuck in the door.
