Is there anywhere I can go nearby to get an 11x17 high-quality color print (ideally on decent acid-free paper) on short-notice? Thanks!

(If anyone was going to suggest it, the UPS store on Highland, which I used once in an emergency to print a couple of signs, is terrible. The output was horrific quality and they tried to charge me for multiple prints even though the only reason we had to do it over was because their printer kept screwing up. Luckily, it was just for a Halloween costume, so the fact that the ink was bleeding all over the place wasn't that big a deal, but this one is actual art. :)

ETA: The art is graphical in nature, not photographic, if that affects anyone's response.

does Cameras Inc. do this? Or maybe Budget Copy in North Cambridge?

it's not "around here", but i gather that costco does really good printing of various sorts, if you know someone with transport and a membership (alas, not me).

i know several people who have been very happy with costco's results. i have membership and transport but i'm out in the wilds of suburbia until tonight.

Cambridge Offset (offsetp.com) has done 11x17 printing for us, and despite the name, they do digital prints too.

We've always done large quantities (promo posters, etc), so I'm not sure if they have minimums or if a single/small quantity print would be prohibitively expensive, but maybe worth a call anyway? Everything we've done with them has always been great quality.

I am very fond of Classic Graphx in Central Square.

i would say *my place* but my ink is way expired and the inksets for this printer are about $500 so it will be a little while before I replace them. unless you would like to pay me $500 for the print then let's talk :)

That frame store between harvard¢ral (near the game store, "Big Picture"?) advertises that they make these sorts of prints. I'd ask to see samples first or check yelp.

mpix.com could probably ship it some sort of superfast method. they are my favorite online printer and are usually fairly fast. I can attest to their quality. All of my pro photographer friends use them.

Not near Davis, but South End Photo does awesome prints on archival paper, and may be what you're looking for.

I used to use Pageworks on Cambridge Street for these kinds of jobs when I lived in Boston & worked in design. www.pageworks.com

What did you end up doing, and how did it turn out?
