I'd like to convert 5-7 personal VHS tapes to DVD as I don't have a VCR.  I don't need any of the bells and whistles but just want to preserve the tapes.

Are there any local businesses or anyone in the Davis Square community that can do this at a reasonable price ($10/tape or less )?

thanks!

Non-local, but reasonably priced. ScanCafe does the service for $15 a tape.

Thanks for the tip about ScanCafe

Getting some old-format media migrated has been high on my to-do list, but this is the first place I've found with reasonable prices. The prices I've seen were so high that it might be cheaper for me to buy a whole raft of equipment and adapters and do it myself.

Too bad they say a lot of the scanning is done in Bangalore.
