WAKA Somerville Dodgeball!

Before you dismiss this as another lame attempt at getting people to join a club, read on!

Do you like to:
-Meet tons of co-ed young adults?
-Get a sweet, free t-shirt?
-Burn tons of calories by playing a typical school yard game?
-Drink at a local Somerville bar in your sweatpants! I repeat, DRINKING IN YOUR SWEATPANTS.

If that doesn't convince you, we have just completed our very first season, complete with:
-Weekly costume themes
-Alcoholic prizes
-Newsletters that included pictures of Tom Selleck, Kevin Federline and a pantsless lady holding a monkey (among others)
-Flip cup and beers a plenty


Our AWESOME winter season begins on February 16 at the Argenziano School in Union Sq.!

The site makes it remarkably difficult to find the dodgeball rules or registration fee.

I 100% agree. It took me awhile to navigate the website as well...

If you go to our season's page: https://www.kickball.com/masomervilledodgeball and look directly under the picture that says WAKA Dodgeball Boston, there is a link that says Dodgeball Rules.

These are the official National Amateur Dodgeball Association rules that we follow: http://www.kickball.com/league/dccapitolhilldodgeball/nadarules

The registration fee is $65 which includes 8 dodgeball games and playoffs, a team t-shirt and 2 completely free drink-as-much-beer-as-you-possibly-can parties. Ah. The embedded PDF is/was not making itself visible in any useful way. Is this the current ruleset?

Is the registration fee listed anywhere on the site before one starts the registration process? That there is a fee is indicated.

That appears to be the current rules! There are the few adjustments that WAKA made, but for the most part, that is the way that we play.

I'm 99% sure that once you create an account and click to register, the bottom of the registration screen describes the fee. Unfortunately, since I have admin status, I am unable to access the registration screen myself to check that out.

However, I think you bring up a very valid point that the price should be listed prior to going through the registration process. If you check the site now (https://www.kickball.com/masomervilledodgeball) I have added the price to the main section where it says "The Season begins on FEBRUARY 16 and is only $65 to join. Check the links on the right for more Dodgeball information. See you in the gym!"

I played WAKA kickball in Somerville a few years ago and had a blast...I can only imagine what fun dodgeball is! I found most participants to be in their 20's to mid 30's, young professionals, local to the Camberville area. I would highly recommend it!

I played dodgeball with bssc for several years and really enjoyed it. The games are frenetic and fun. I can't speak to waka but I can speak well of the game itself.
