Mysterious library closure?

According to Twitter and Facebook, the West Branch of the library is closed indefinitely "due to electrical and plumbing issues." Anyone know what's up with that? Didn't they just recently renovate it, at least in part?

I don't know the answer, but I'm going to take this post as a reminder to add a 'library' tag, and eventually find all the old posts about libraries and retag them.

Noooooo! Say it isn't so! Although a couple of days ago when I requested a book from (somewhere) in the Minuteman network and asked for it to be delivered to the West branch, there didn't seem to be any problem with the request...

The library web page still says this:

ALERT! - The West Branch will be CLOSED this afternoon and evening (Thurs. 12/6/12) due to electrical and plumbing issues.

even though it's Friday by now. I hope this was just a single-day emergency, or that they can finish fixing it before today's normal opening (2 pm).

ETA 12/7 12:17 pm: The page now says: The West Branch will be open today (Friday, 12/7/12) at 2:00 p.m.

When I was there on Wednesday, there was a sign up front saying to ask for a flashlight at the front desk if you needed to use the restroom.( I wasn't sure if this was for finding it or using it.) I suspect the problem was not just a burnt-out bulb.
