I'm a Risotto virgin (cooking, not eating) and thought I try making it. This is probably a dumb question but the recipes I have been looking at call for arborio or vialone rice - and in my deprived rice life I only know basmati and jasmine. Where does one find arborio or vialone rice around here?

Most supermarkets will have arborio. The supermarkets that are not Whole Foods will probably have it either in the fancy gluten-free-etc aisle, or in the "ethnic foods" aisle.

Also, the Italian grocery/deli on Highland right in the Square, next tooooo... Snappy Sushi? will undoubtedly have arborio, and possibly other kinds of rice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risotto#Rice_varieties) suitable for risotto.

Um, I might kinda like risotto.
