Hello, we are looking for ideas of where to hold a brunch on a Sunday after a Saturday wedding.    Ideally somewhere in the greater Somerville/Cambridge area.    Obviously many of our favorite brunch places are already packed on Sunday mornings and/or don't have an appropriate space for that type of gathering.

Christopher's in Porter rents out the upstairs dining room for parties. Not sure if it is big enough for your party or if they do it for brunch.

We did Christopher's. They definitely do brunch.

They do a very tasty brunch! My friend had a wedding rehearsal dinner in that upstairs dining room. I don't remember how many people it was, but there were quite a few of us in there. The website says that room accomodates 20-75 guests.

Are you looking for a private room, or just enough space for a large group?

S&S in Inman Square does have private rooms, although I don't know if they are available for brunch.

The BEST brunch in town is at Henrietta's table, and it's very festive, and can fit a lot of people. It's not cheap, however, and I don't think they have private rooms.

I believe they do have a private room, but as I recall it isn't that large (maybe 20 people?)

Depending on your tastes, the Asgard just outside Central Square has a nice semi-private party room space in the back and a fairly sturdy brunch menu (http://www.classicirish.com/asgard-menu.php#brunch).

You might also investigate the lovely Sabur (http://www.saburrestaurant.com/) in Teele Sq, which is not a huge place, but IME they would probably go out of their way to be hospitable to your party.

I definitely second Christopher's as well.

I'm a regular at Asgard's brunch, and it's very good.

Sidney's Grill is okay for brunch, not great (which is why we've gone next door to Asgard :), but that's why space is always available there. With a little warning to staff up, they could probably seat 100+ for brunch.

Both validate parking at the University Garage.

If its during the warmer months, and you are up for a bit of a splurge, the patio at Henrietta's table is great.

I echo chanaleh's suggestion of Sabur. Their brunch is delicious, and unlike a lot of other places, they never seem to be crowded. (But of course you should still call ahead to warn them if you're bringing a crowd.)

+1. We did our rehearsal dinner there in the bar area and it was great. And their brunch menu is tasty!

Sabur is great. I had a party catered by them a while ago, and they sent extra food. For this type of situation, you'd definitely be making a reservation and dealing with catering, not just showing up with a ton of people and wanting a table.

I have to say, though, that every post-wedding brunch I've attended has been at the hotel where the majority of out-of-town guests are staying. If you don't have out-of-town guests or aren't reserving a block of rooms, that changes things, but I do think there's something to be said for being able to stumble downstairs the next morning and have brunch right there, especially on a Sunday when a lot of people have to leave to get home. I've actually never attended a brunch for a local wedding and think of it as an event that people tend to have for out-of-town guests. Food for thought, I guess (no pun intended).
