Wow, thanks. I think this is exactly what I'm looking for. I used to take kung-fu, and really miss martial arts. I wanted kickboxing in that kind of atmosphere, rather than a gym.
The atmosphere is great. I stopped in and watched a two hour jui jitsu class before I took my free class and then joined. I noticed a lack of egos and the students doing almost as much teaching of each other as the trainers were doing. It's a good collection of people and the material is very practical as we have UFC and other mixed martial arts fighters who train in the school (many come from other schools to suplement their training with Muay Thai).
Yes. Right near Khoury's (the bar that has the Thursday night running club that jogs through the area), Mudflat pottery studio, and somewhat close to Sullivan Sq and Winter Hill.
If you are interested in other martial arts stuff, there is a tae kwon do school (Jae Kim) on Mass Ave right out of porter sq. I got my black belt from the Boston school, but was a frequent visitor to the cambridge school. The guy who teaches many of the classes is a great teacher, who will make certain you crawl out of class from sheer tiredness.
