We received an outrageously high quote from a major chain store to hang our flat screen TV on wall and hook up remote control in closet behind TV.  (we want to hide cord and cable box) Our electrical work is already done.  (plug on wall behind tv and plug in closet behind TV for cable box)
Does anyone know of someone (independent or small business) in our community that could do this work?  Could not find anything tagged on this.

Thanks!!

are you setting up an "eye/receiver" to change the channels on the cable box once it is inside the closet from the other side- or are changing them thru the TV? I am just trying to figure out what your doing because it seems simple enough, just hanging the TV bracket on the wall- and I can only imagine what they quoted you for such simple work

Handyman type work for hanging the bracket properly and snaking the wire through the wall cleanly with you supplying all the materials- should not be more than 1 hour worth of work.

It's something I can do, or show you how to do it yourself (since I don't have the time).

You'll need these materials:

For mounting:
1. Stud finder.
2. Stepped drill bit and power drill if your studs don't line-up with your bracket and you need to drill your own holes on the bracket to make it work.
3. Or, you can use toggles, like SNAPTOGGLE.

For hiding cords in the wall:

1. IWPE (in-wall power extension) or power bridge.
2. Low-voltage cables. Make sure the cables are long enough.

If you don't want to hide the cords in the wall:
1. You can use paintable wire channels.
2. You might need to buy longer cables.

If you know what your doing, it could take 20-30 minutes (if you have all the materials). Since this is your first time, take your time, so you don't make any mistakes.
