Benjapon's is open, at 195 Elm Street, the former location of Fusion Express. It appears to be a fast-food Thai place. I don't know how long it has been open. Has anyone here tried it yet?
I've gotten food there twice. I'd describe price and quality as being competitive with other take-out oriented Thai places. Both the iced tea and iced coffee were nice. The drunken noodles were a little greasy, but nicely spicy. The green curry had very nice flavor and was pretty hot, but was more dominated by big chunks of eggplant than I would have liked. The fried rolls appeared to be sticks of pure wrapper, with no filling--not recommended. yagagriswold got a stir-fried dish that was tasty and not too spicy.
In sum, I'd give it a weak thumbs up. Not exciting, but good.
I'd agree. The fried rolls had a little filling, but not much--I was disappointed by them. But my thai basil curry with chicken was good, and spicy, and had a decent amount of chicken in it.
Also, they have a card that lets you get a free entree after buying 10 of them. I'd say it's a reasonable place to go to if you're in the area and don't expect any waitservice, but it's not a place to go out of your way to get to.
