Anybody know of a place in the Davis/Porter/Harvard area that provides CD repair services? Do-it-yourself techniques didn't work, CD Spins says they've stopped providing this service, Newbury Comics doesn't do it, and Tower is out of business (if they ever did repairs at all). Thanks.

Speaking of CD Spins, why did they close their downtown Boston store -- but leave it fully stocked for weeks afterwards?

lazy?
ha! just kidding, Art, wherever you are.

he had had the store for so long 10+ years that the rent was still waaaaaaay low. controlled rent down town boston!? say waaaaaaaaaaat? so he didnt want to give up the location. i'm guessing that the cds and whatnot stayed there due to space contraints elsewhere? he still owns Newbury (as far as i know) and i'm sure that store couldnt handle all of DTX's stock.

and fun sidenote: the store that's there now is Art's as well. i think he and his baby-momma set that place up. QUITE a different vibe from the old spins but hey, whatever floats yer boat.

I didn't realize the DTX location had reopened; I'll have to check it out. (But Boston doesn't have commercial rent control.)
