This store is awesome. I'm very happy with the quality of merchandise and I wish them much success in Davis Square.
I bought some amazing jewelry, a Davis Square shirt, a box of almond soaps, a "Lucky Pennies" sign for my back entry and a few other things.

Just like any new business, it takes time to work out the kinks, house a good inventory and find a balance of creating the vision that is in harmony and compatible with the neighborhood and the market. And so far, they're doing a great job. I'm looking forward to popping in on a regular basis. They are friendly and helpful, and I'm going back!

And even if you're not in the market for buying something, you have to check out the switch plate on the wall to the left as you come in the door. It's the coolest copper design. It's official, I'm in love.

Some people have nothing better to do.

Don't get me wrong... a healthy skepticism is a good thing. But it is far too easy to criticize anyone or anything when not communicating face-to-face. It is too easy and requires no skill, creativity or class.

Now that I've passed beyond my über-cynical years I try to limit my exposure to gossip, angry talk radio, and toxic websites like FARK and Reddit. I have no time for people who enjoy mocking others to make themselves feel superior.

agreed. i just quit reddit and digg for just those reasons. plus being female, a majority of the blockheaded threads on digg made my blood boil.

Some folks deserve mocking, like the guy who wanted to open a Hooters Hair Salon here in Davis. But that's fortunately a rare occasion here.

'It is too easy and requires no skill, creativity or class.'

How can you possibly make that claim?

Mocking others appeals to the lowest common denominator. A first grader can do it. What exactly about my claim is unrealistic?

'Class' aside, which is another matter entirely, can we not agree that there are degrees of mockery, some more poignant and effective than others?
