This store is awesome. I'm very happy with the quality of merchandise and I wish them much success in Davis Square.
I bought some amazing jewelry, a Davis Square shirt, a box of almond soaps, a "Lucky Pennies" sign for my back entry and a few other things.

Just like any new business, it takes time to work out the kinks, house a good inventory and find a balance of creating the vision that is in harmony and compatible with the neighborhood and the market. And so far, they're doing a great job. I'm looking forward to popping in on a regular basis. They are friendly and helpful, and I'm going back!

And even if you're not in the market for buying something, you have to check out the switch plate on the wall to the left as you come in the door. It's the coolest copper design. It's official, I'm in love.

Only one person made that claim, and being new is not a prereq, anyway. I am perfectly capable of shilling despite my advanced age.

If someone I knew well wrote something like this, I might still tell them that it *sounded* like a shill even if I knew perfectly well that it wasn't. If it was about a place I loved, I'd note that I love the place, but it still sounds like a shill. And heck, if *I'd* written it, I'd rather someone tell me it sounded fake than not know that many people were likely dismissing it for that reason.

My first comment came from the sincere belief that it was a shill and with the intent to communicate that it's really okay to just openly advertise for your friends. Obviously it was read with a lot more negativity than that.
