This store is awesome. I'm very happy with the quality of merchandise and I wish them much success in Davis Square.
I bought some amazing jewelry, a Davis Square shirt, a box of almond soaps, a "Lucky Pennies" sign for my back entry and a few other things.

Just like any new business, it takes time to work out the kinks, house a good inventory and find a balance of creating the vision that is in harmony and compatible with the neighborhood and the market. And so far, they're doing a great job. I'm looking forward to popping in on a regular basis. They are friendly and helpful, and I'm going back!

And even if you're not in the market for buying something, you have to check out the switch plate on the wall to the left as you come in the door. It's the coolest copper design. It's official, I'm in love.

"Have you been to D^2?"

Yes. The fact that I found it to be yet another "trinkets for aging huppies" store, however, has nothing to do with my perception of your post. By and by, a simple "No, I'm not" would have sufficed. It's entirely possibly you're just really... cheerful, or something.

I've heard it used as a combination of 'hippie' and 'yuppie', which is how I intended it.

Mostly. My demeanor tends to sour when people refer to my criticisms as hate speech. Weird, huh?

There are times when your demeanor isn't sour?

Man, if you knew me. I'm a veritable Tony Robbins.

Well, I can tell from your LJ profile that you're about to receive an unsolicited AARP card in the mail. Like I did a couple months ago. (And if that's your userpic at almost 50, I'm quite impressed.)

They sent it before your birthday? How rude. For me they at least waited until the following week.

Oh man, yeah, that's not very smart to remind people they're getting on in years.

But hey, the AARP really got down at the convention center recently, I heard LL Cool J played for them and they were going wild!
