So, I'm at Boloco (hooray for telecommuting), and there's a big company-wide managers' meeting going on. I asked someone, and he said they've decided not to sell — they currently have a kitchen in Malden where they make their salsas and so on, and they're moving that here to make use of the basement space. So, the perilous situation of Davis Square's burrito-joint density decreasing has been averted.

damn I was really hoping someplace tasty would be moving there (I still miss o'naturals...and steve's). Well at least they are a local business.

I wonder what effect the board-gaming community has had on that... since there's at least 3 groups that meet there...

I know about the one that [livejournal.com profile] jodi announces here every month. What are the other two?

meetup.com has one every other week or so. (There's one tomorrow night!) and I keep hearing about another one or two that no one seems to have details on, but isn't on days of the two that I know about...

And the Burrito Gods breathe a sigh of relief.

I'm happy. Does this mean more people are eating there now?

Me too! It's a great place to bring kids for lunch since they can play while you eat. Kid-friendly food, too!

I'm happy they're staying. I like Anna's also but I usually choose Boloco because they seem more committed to using naturally-raised meats and healthier ingredients. I also think they have a bit more range if you're not in the mood for a burrito. And the kids space makes it more friendly for families. I hope more people give them a chance.

Good they are staying (food = good), but I can't imagine they are actually making money. I was there for 2 hours yesterday, and they had about 6 people on duty, and perhaps 5 customers who bought anything during that two hour period.

When the staff outnumbers the patrons, it is a bad sign.

Though I have never eaten at that location (I go to the one near Tufts that is frequently busy) the owner has emailed back and forth w/ my SO and seems like a really nice guy from that and his posts here. I am glad he seems to be able to make it, at least for now, at this location too.
