"Best of Davis Square" poll series

These things weren't my idea, but we should see them through to completeness. So far we have had burritos (Anna's won), coffee shop (Diesel won), and pizza (Angelina's won).

What else would you like to do? Chinese food? Best bar/ pub? Best brunch? etc.

We could probably do 3 or 4 more of these and be done. How about having the next one Chinese food? We can do that one tomorrow so today you can nominate your favorite place. Once again, there are lots of places that could deliver to the Davis Square area, so lets try to keep the suggestions within a mile radius of the Square.

Therefore, to recap:

2) What is your favorite Chinese food place located within a mile of Davis Square?

I love Kee Kar Lau! What's not to like? Aside from being inexpensive and open late, the food is great too. I'm a big fan of the lo mein.

Everything I've had from there has been mediocre at best. I've only ordered from there 3 or 4 times and it has been because they were the only place open that would deliver. I haven't had the lo mein, maybe that is something they do a good job with.

Yeah, I've found that to be especially good, and they use some nice fresh vegetables in the Sichuan chicken so I also enjoy that one a lot. There are a lot of other places nearby that I prefer, but not for Chinese food and not with their hours and prices. So I wouldn't want to send you back for a regular dinner, but if you get hungry late again sometime I do recommend giving the lo mein a shot!

Maybe it's me, but the food I've gotten there is between mediocre and inedible (and I'm not picky, esp. not at 2am on a Saturday). But I usually got easy-to-remember-in-the-car-on-the-way-home apps, not lo mein, so maybe I'm missing out.

It is indeed subjective. That's why I'm getting fairly annoyed by the contingent who's all "Don't even include it in the poll."

I prefer KKL's wonton soup to that anywhere else in the area, and would say the same thing for their lo mein.

Their portions are large, their service friendly, their delivery fast, and, imo, their food good. Maybe it's not to the taste of some others here, but it's certainly a candidate...

The "don't include it in the poll" stuff are people just joking. I'm more annoyed with the needless "its all crap in Davis Square" or "Real Chinese food is located in New York" comments.

I'm including everything that was mentioned here. I'll probably include a "none of the above" category for people who insist its all crap.
