hi all - i wanted to get some varied ideas of ways to get regular exercise around here.  i'm trying to avoid joining a gym- i prefer to do activities that are fun and challenging, and as an added benefit, happen to be good for your body.  e.g. climbing, sailing, swimming, hiking, but these are not the most convenient this tiime of year.  i think i need something that forces me to commit, and where i can see progress over time.  so i was thinking of signing up for a phys. ed. type class- maybe at a school, or if there are any continuing education type programs?  anything you know of in davis or nearby?

my other idea was joining a martial arts studio.  any you recommend?

also, suggestions for yoga/meditation studios are welcome too.  :)

There once was a link to which bicyclists can report bad drivers. What was that URL again? I'd like to report this guy who seems to think having a fancy sports car means you can drive like you own the road.
Thanks everybody!

are there any places (cafes/restaurants/lounges/bars) with public fireplaces in cambridge or somerville, or in boston?

my alternative is trekking out to a Panera somewhere in the suburbs.

Drawing a bit on the theme of the earlier post on adult education, I was wondering something slightly different.

I'm about to start a master's program online, and the degree requirements will mean that I have to have access to a college library. Tufts is the most convenient, but Harvard is pretty convenient too, as I work and live on the red line.

Anyone know anything about getting access to these university's libraries as a non-student? This isn't my only source of information, but we've got a pretty diverse crowd here and I thought someone might know a bit about it.
