Over the next few weeks, you might want to make a point of wandering past the bikeway community garden behind the Brooks drugstore. Because it's about to enter its purple phase!

We've coordinated the plantings in the front beds so that things of similar color tend to bloom at the same time, and soon the iris, sage, ornamental thistle, flowering onion, and many other purple flowers will be in full display. It's quite dramatic.

In summer, the garden will fade into autumnal colors, with mostly orange, red, and yellow. And then we'll plant more tulips for the spring.

After running around in the pouring rain late last night trying to find a parking space, I thought this might be helpful to some of you (If you're absent-minded like me. Heh.) - Boston Sweeper.

Take care.

Hopefully the rain will clear up for this...
Hollywood Express is having their Spring Sidewalk Sale in front of the Davis Square store (238 Elm Street) this Saturday, May 28th from 10am until around 6pm. If it starts raining, we'll pack up early, and if the whole day is a washout we'll try again Sunday the 29th.

(The final Sidewalk Sale for spring will be at the Twin City Plaza store <14 McGrath Highway> on Saturday, June 4th, 10am-6ish)

DVD's are $8 each or 3 for $20, VHS $3 each or 5 for $10, GameCube/Xbox/PS2 games $8 each or 3 for $20, all sales *as is*. Lots of titles, old & new, pulled fresh from our regular rental inventory.
And no, we're not going out of business, we're running out of space!

I thought that I would share these for you local types. My part-time job is bartending at the VFW behind the Winter Hill Bank (I'm a member there) and it's customary for me to get a couple of coffees before my shift on Saturday mornings at the Dunkin Donuts. While wandering over there from The Post this past Saturday, I took a couple of pictures and played around a bit.

The first is of two of my fellow vets who were collecting money for disabled vets, selling poppies in front of the McDonalds. The gentleman on the left is a Vietnam Vet and the one on the right is an 86 year old WWII vet. They happen to be two of my favorite people. They didn't notice me take these.

I'm a total hack and not actually a photographer by any stretch as these show, but nevertheless, it's The Square.
