Just curious if anyone else here works in 48 Grove Street (the long brick factory building by the College exit to the T, for those of you who don't work there).  I walk past folks in the hall and wonder if I've read their posts here.

Do we really need more burrito's and taco's? Couldn't something more fun and maybe useful have bought that space?
now I wont be able to get last minute halloween stuff....

I've read through all the great recommendations under the housecleaning tag. Now I have a question about pets. Does anyone know if any of these recommendations are pet friendly? Are there pet people here who have cleaners come while they are at work? I have two cats and a dog who are all very friendly but I fear someone unfamiliar with animals may accidently let the pets outside or be unkind to them.

Secondly, I have never had a house cleaner and I'm not really sure how it works. Would it be reasonable to hire someone to come and just do my kitchen and bath twice a month? Or maybe the whole apartment just once a month? Is there such a thing as too small of a job?

So, my visitor parking pass card says on it, "Visitor District B". I assume that indicates some kind of boundary where the permit is allowed to be used -- does anyone know where I can find a map of what that means? I've tried http://www.somervillema.gov/section.cfm?org=traffic&page=138, but either I'm blind or there's no love.

(If there is no map, then does anybody know how far away a visitor is allowed to park? They scrawled my address on the permit, too.)

Question the second: Can anybody point me to an online map that actually shows all the MBTA bus routes? I'd expected to find something like that at mbta.com, but seemingly no love there, either.

Continuing a tradition almost a decade strong, Redbones BBQ will be grilling local veggies for a good cause this Wednesday, September 12th at the Davis Square market in Somerville.

Come on by from 12 - 5:30pm to pick up a hearty and healthy serving of vegetables grown by our farmers and flavored deliciously by the chefs of Redbones. You can also grab an ear or two of grilled corn and a glass of Redbones' famous lemonade.

The prices are low ($6 for the whole package), the food delicious, and all the proceeds will benefit the Federation of Mass. Farmers' Markets, the non-profit which brings you the Davis Square market and which supports the over 130 markets state-wide.

So grab a friend or two, and plan to have lunch, dinner, or an afternoon snack at the Davis market on Wednesday, September 12th!

All right. Quick little intro thingie- I just moved here from Upstate NY a little more than a week ago with little more than clothes, my computer and boundless optimism.

Note: No furniture.

Now that I've gotten settled in a bit more- found gainful employment, etc. etc., I've figured that it's time to make my apartment look a bit more like home.

This involves buying furniture.

So I come to you, O Long-Established Ones, a lowly supplicant at the feet of your boundless knowledge:

Where can I find decent furniture (a full/queen mattress, a chest of drawers) for a decent price without having to go to the far ends of the earth?

I've looked on Craigslist, but a lot of the cheap stuff there is way the hell out of the city, and as I have no car, mildly impossible to get to.

Any advice?

My housemate and I are looking for a third person to join us for 10/1. Our apartment is off of Broadway on Burnham Street, about a 5-10 minute walk from the square, depending on your speed and destination. :) The landlord is awesome. (She doesn't allow pets though, sorry!)

If you need a place, or know someone who does, please check out our ad: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/roo/419202745.html and the pictures: http://web.simmons.edu/~cody1/burnhamstreet.html. Thanks!
