Just an fyi...traffic on RT2 is REALLY bad. My husband has been sitting in traffic to come home from a job site for about 25 mins already and he is still stuck by Faces. I guess all the Red Sox fans are parking at the bowling alley and what not to walk to Alewife. So I figured Id give a heads up if you are driving that way :)

Another Lost Dog In Davis

When I came up the College Avenue exit of the T a half-hour ago, there was a dog with no collar inside the station, appearing as if it was looking frantically for someone. S/he looked to be an adult yellow Lab mix, possibly with some Pitt Bull judging from the head and eye shapes (I didn't find out the gender). It was very sweet and approachable and I tried to soothe it, as did others, but it wanted out of the station and someone urged it down towards the bike path, away from traffic.

It may still be in that area. This is the 3rd lost dog in or near the center of Davis that I've seen mentioned in the last week or so. If the dog sounds familiar, it's looking hard for its owner...

Someone asked a similar question about JP in b0st0n. Can anybody tell me about what time the trick-or-treaters usually make the rounds? I live in Porter, but I imagine it's a similar time range . . . Of course, it may be different this year, given that we're still on DST . . . But mostly, I'm looking to see if I should work from home if I want to get my chance frighten small children.

Indoor Basketball Courts?

Where do people go to shoot hoops when it's cold and dark?

I'm sure there are local gyms or athletic clubs that offer indoor basketball courts, I'm just having trouble finding them. I'm not really looking to join a pick-up game as much as practice my nascent jump shot...

Oh, and I have wheels, so distance isn't a great problem.
