There are currently neighborhood-wide power fluctuations occurring in North Cambridge, near Mass Ave/Rindge Avenue. There are also a number of fire and emergency trucks at the end of Rice St, all of which just went speeding up the wrong way on it.

Anyone know what's happening? I had hoped it was the zombie apocalypse, but nobody else is arming themselves with katana and going outside yet, so Livejournal is the next rational place to look.

Turn your lights off, neighbors!

8pm to 9 pm, a small gesture to help spread awareness regarding energy consumption. Also, this is your chance to take that candle lit bath, or snuggle your significant other and picture your fantasy-person of choice. Don't let it go to waste!

A friend of mine who works at Tufts told me that a student was stabbed at 3am on campus last night/this morning. She said she was notified via email when I asked for a link. Has anyone else heard about this and can provide more information?

The latest e-mail update from McIntyre & Moore:

McIntyre & Moore Booksellers' Davis Square store is closed as of 8:00 PM Saturday, March 29, for our move to 1971 Mass. Ave. in Porter Square, Cambridge.

We hope to be open in Porter by the weekend of April 5th and 6th, but we won't know the exact opening date more than a day or two in advance, possibly not until the day itself. It'll be a "soft" opening, as ours have always been. Possibly there won't be much more than a thousand books on the shelves the first day, but we'll have many thousands pre-priced, so we'll be able to increase the stock as fast as we can shelve books.
