I am moving soon to a very small apartment and have some free things to get rid of - most importantly a couch. Let me know if you are interested asap. Items would need to be picked up today or tomorrow. pics and descriptions of everything can be found here:   http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/zip/791819902.html Anything I don't get rid of is headed to salvation army ...except the couch - I don't have a way to get it there but it's in good shape so I don't want to leave it on the curb either. Please come take it!

Lost dog. Cleo has been missing since July 23rd.

She ran away from Fletcher Field on Tufts campus during a thunderstorm. She has been sighted a number of times since then, but I have not been able to find her.

35-40 lbs. Reddish/tan/brown. Mixed breed, female dog. She has big floppy ears.
She is very shy and timid with humans, but loves other dogs.

If you see her PLEASE don't chase her. If you can follow her quietly or watch where she goes that would be very helpful. It she is staying in one place, you could try putting some food out near her and then step back. Speak softly and move slowly. She loves other dogs, so if you have a friendly one, this might be a good way to break the ice.

She is likely to be hiding under bushes or shrubs and coming out to find food at night or early morning. If you see a dog looking through trash in your neighborhood that might match her description PLEASE call me or animal control.

I can be reached at 978-697-6973 any time of day or night.

And thank you to all the MANY Somerville residents who have been so thoughtful and concerned about Cleo's whereabouts. I really appreciate the many well wishes. However, I would ask that you please refrain from calling just to ask if I've found her. My heart jumps every time an unrecognized MA number comes up on my phone. I will be certain to post online, remove flyers about town and announce happily to everyone when Cleo returns home. In the meantime I'd love to keep my phone line open to calls from people who may have seen her.

Thank you!!!

I made an appt. to take my cat to his vet, Revere Pet Clinic. He's having problems with his gums and teeth and in a lot of pain. When I showed up for my appt., I found out that there was an error and my appt. didn't get recorded in the schedule and the vet had already left.

Anyway, I made him an appt. for two days from now, but he's in pain and I really don't want him to be. I think he just needs antibiotics. I can't afford to pay some huge emergency surcharge. Are there any places that are open late? Or are there any vets here willing to work on the black market?

*resists temptation to post picture of sad kitty who just spent an hour in the car for nothing (or sad owner who just spent an hour in the car for nothing)*

$675 Queer-Friendly Housing in Davis Square (available September)

I'm looking for a new roommate starting September 1 for my 2 BD, 1 BA spacious modern apartment in a quiet neighborhood near the bike path and equidistant from Davis & Porter Sqs. The apartment is partially underground (I think they call this a "garden" apartment), but with a surprisingly good amount of sunlight, a large kitchen, and has marble and tile floors throughout, which helps keep things cooler during the summer. (The floor can get a bit chilly in the winter, but it's nothing a rug can't handle.) The best thing about this place is the location: it's less than 10 min. on foot to either Davis or Porter, plus there's usually plenty of free off-street parking. The entire apartment is $1350/mo, and your share would be $675 + utilities (electric, gas heat & hot water, cable & internet), 1st and last needed to move in. I have a cat, so another cat is a possibility, but probably not more than that, as we've determined that 3 cats is the maximum feline capacity for this particular place; dogs, alas, wouldn't really work here. Landlords tend to be slackassed, but will respond in case of emergency, and otherwise leave well enough alone.

I'm a 40-something single professional female who works in downtown Boston, GLBT/kink/poly/geek-friendly, with a number of interests (concert photography, knitting, sewing, fandom, music, the SCA...), including baking truly kickass brownies/chocolate chip oatmeal cookies/blueberry muffins/etc. etc. etc. (I have references! really! :-)

If any of this sounds like something you're interested in, please contact me at robin at mindspring dot com.
